Steve Hoersting is a Licensed Psychological Practitioner, Certified Medical Psychotherapist, Certified Behavior Instructor for Autism, Certified Clinical Specialist in Autism Spectrum Disorder and Certified Clinical Specialist in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in a private practice in Northern Kentucky.

Steve has spent over 40 years providing therapy and evaluations to children, adolescents, adults and caretakers with ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Nonverbal Learning Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Behavioral Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and Tourette’s Disorder. He has worked in medical, psychiatric, and educational settings as well as private practice.

Before becoming a psychologist, Steve taught special education, was a school counselor at the elementary level responsible for counseling, educational testing, developing IEP’s, conducting Admissions in Release Committee meetings, and he developed the first elementary counseling program district wide for a large local school district.

Steve graduated from Morehead State University with a degree in Special Education and Psychology and  from the University of Houston with a degree in Educational Psychology/Counseling. He was a research assistant for Baylor College of Medicine where he was involved in several projects for educating practitioners to counsel patients on various health concerns. Steve preformed his internship at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital and the Diagnostic Learning Center at the University of Houston, Texas and completed his thesis on the Long-Term Benefits of Stress Management Techniques among Myocardial Infraction Patients.

Steve returned to Northern Kentucky and subsequently was licensed as an Independent Licensed Psychological Practitioner having passed the EPPP at the doctoral level and sitting for the Kentucky State Board of Psychology for the oral examination at the doctoral level. Steve spent 10 years as a medical psychotherapist involved in the daily evaluation and treatment of individuals for ADHD, Tourette’s Disorder, Autism, Behavior Disorders and Mood Disorders. He has since been engaged in private practice where he continues daily to evaluate and treat individuals with a variety of mental health issues. He has had training in the Barton method for teaching reading to dyslexic individuals.
